Chelsea have been in contact with both Atalanta and Nottingham Forest regarding a possible move for Emerson Palmieri. The Italian left-back looks set to depart the club after the arrival of Marc Cucurella fron Brighton.
Emerson joined Chelsea from AS Roma in the summer of 2018 for a fee worth £24m. The defender played in London for three seasons and spent his fourth year on loan at Lyon.
Marcus Alonso’s links to Barcelona should open a door for Emerson into Chelsea’s first team, but Marc Cucurella’s arrival has limited his opportunity to break into the squad.
Emerson has two years left on his current contract in West London. The Blues will listen to decent offers from the defender and enable him decide what would be best for his future.
