Chelsea have lost an attacking duo in Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner this summer. But that may not be the end yet. Hakim Ziyech and Hudson Odoi are on the verge of extending the list further to a quadruple departure from the Stamford Bridge.
Despite Thomas Tuchel’s replacements- Raheem Sterling and Armando Broja, Chelsea still need at least one more attacking option before the window finally closes.
Tuchel’s attacking deficit was exposed in their last week’s game against Everton. Although his side emerged victorious, it was a slender one goal win; with the only goal coming from the penalty spot.
However, the German manager is not oblivious to the fact that his team needs a poacher, and as such, has made attempts to lure Aubameyang back to London.
With Chelsea and Barcelona recently involved in more conflicting deals than symbiotic, yet another may just be added to the negative list.
Reports via Albert Roge claims that Chelsea’s €14m bid for the former Arsenal player, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been turned down by Barcelona. Barcelona will be looking to cash in an excess of €20m for the half-season old striker.
This summer, Chelsea have shown that they are not scared to splash the cash, as seen with Raheem Sterling and Marc Cucurella. It will be no surprise to see Chelsea quickly up their bid to secure Aubameyang’s signature within the shortest time possible.
