Chelsea have been on the lookout for a defender after losing both Antony Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to Spanish clubs. A number of centre-backs have been mentioned in various reports including Nathan Ake, Jules Kounde and now Wesley Fofana.
Chelsea have failed to land either of Ake and Kounde, but succeeded in drawing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli. The Blues have now formally submitted a propasal for Leicester City’s Fofana which was turned down. Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, has stated that The Foxes have no plans to let the player leave the club this summer as they on their “not for sale” stance.
Fofana has been one of the most brilliant prospects in the young generation of defenders. Leicester City want to keep him because of this reason and also because they have been unable to make any signing this summer.
The Foxes have also stamped an £80m price on the defender which Chelsea are miles away from. The Blues are however preparing another approach, they want to push for Fofana and he wants the move. Thomas Tuchels side are preparing a bid worth around £70m, hoping to persuade Leicester City with the price.
