Chelsea are closing in on Nathan Ake in a deal within the region of £40m, according to Matteo Moretto.
The Blues will look to strengthen their defense following the exits of centre backs Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen who moved to Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
The 27 year old Dutch international is far down the pecking order in Pep Guardiola’s squad and may look to seek for regular playing time. With the World cup looming, he might favor to secure a place in Van Gaal’s starting XI.
Tuchel is regarded as a fan of the Man City man and a move for him might be preferred to other options including Jules Kounde due to his Premier League experience.
Ake has spent the last two seasons with City and has impressed whenever he’s been called upon. However, the Dutch has only ever been used as a rotation option and has never really managed to nail down a spot in the starting eleven.
Report from The Guardian, Nathan Ake is on Chelsea’s shortlist and could come back to the club as a potential replacement for Antonio Rudiger.
