Manchester City have seen their perfect transfer window take an unexpected nose dive. The blue Mancunian team have successfully lured all their targets this summer, except one player: Marc Cucurella.
Brighton and Manchester City have gone back and forth over the past few weeks on the Cucurella subject; all to no avail. The two teams although sharing the blue color are a sizable £10m apart in the shades. However, the subject of controversy between the two clubs may favour blue London club, Chelsea.
With the Sky Blue side strongly refusing to upgrade a £40m stance, Chelsea are hoping to capitalise on the deal as quick as possible.
Chelsea have been quietly monitoring the situation and are now ready to strike the Seagulls with their own proposal. Reports emerged that the London side are looking to use make-weight players to facilitate the transfer and probably massage Brighton’s ego. It is believed that Chelsea’s academy player, Levi Colwill; who enjoyed a loan spell last season will be part of the transfer negotiations.
Talks between the London Blues and the Seagulls are expected to commence immediately today. Chelsea are indeed racing against time, as Thomas Tuchel is far from his dream squad ahead of the fast approaching 2022/2023 season.
