Fabrizio Romano confirms that Manchester City are finally set to open official talks with Brighton for Marc Cucurella. Now that Zinchenko has formally left the squad for his Arsenal medical, City can formally bid for Cucurella.
Although Brighton will value Cucurella at about £50 million, Man City will attempt to cut the costs and do “smart business” with The Seagulls. They will look to add potential add-ons in the deal, instead of paying in one full installment.
Cucurella has been a priority for Guardiola and City will now press heavily for the full back after selling Zinchenko to Arsenal. Full verbal agreements in personal terms with the player are almost achieved. This will enable Man City to intensify the pursuit for the full back in the coming days.
If the deal is agreed and completed soon, Cucurella will join the City squad in training for their Community Shield game vs Liverpool. Although he is unlikely to feature until the new season starts.
