The 26-years old midfielder underwent his medical examinations on Friday, and he’s very close to completing his £42m move to Etihad Stadium from Leeds United.
With the departure of Fernandinho – who left to Athletico Paranaense on a free transfer this summer after completing his contract – Manchester City had to sign his replacement.
However, there were other teams who showed thier interest in the England international midfielder, Kalvin Phillips only wanted to join Manchester City.
Kalvin Phillips is set to be announced as a new Manchester City player, following Erling Braut-Haaland – who joined from Borussia Dortmund – and Julian Alvarez who’s also expected in England in the coming days after finishing his loan spell in River Plate.
The Cityzens will pay a fee around £42m which could rise up to £50m including £8m in addons for Kavlin Phillips who leaves his boyhood club where he’s played since 2010.
