Manchester City are set to offer Riyad Mahrez another contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Algerian international has a contract until 2023, which means his future must be decided as soon as possible so he can’t leave the Cityzens for free next summer.
Manchester City will open talks to extend Riyad Mahrez’s contract in the next weeks, with Foden and Rodri also on the list for players who the Cityzens will offer a contract extension.
“Not just Cucurella as a main target, Manchester City are prepared to offer Mahrez a new contract after Sterling and Gabriel Jesus departures,” wrote Fabrizio Romano on his Twitter.
“Discussions will take place in the next weeks, with Rodri and Foden also in the new contact lists at Manchester City.”
However, Mahrez has been reportedly attracted some European big clubs, Manchester City are optimistic to reach aggreements for the contract renewal with him.
The 31-year-old arrived at Etihad Stadium from Leicester City back in 2018 in a deal worth £60m, and since then has become one of the key players for Pep Guardiola’s first team squad.
Manchester City are keen to keep Riyad Mahrez, who made 188 appearances during his four years in Manchester, after Gabriel Jesus and possibly Raheem Sterling’s departure.
