Three weeks remain in the transfer window and Manchester City have gone further to improve the quality of the younger generation. Under 21 duo, Nahuel Ferraresi and Kayky Chagas both set to depart the Etihad on loan.
Ferraresi’s contract however, has an obligation to buy. Kayky, on the other hand, will return to the club as the aim of the loan is to improve his abilities for top-flight soccer.
Kayky is reportedly set to join Portuguese club, Pacos de Ferreira, on a year-long loan according to Fabrizio Romano. The move is expected to be officially finalised this week.
The Brazilian starlet joined City who beat Liverpool to sign him from Fluminense in the summer of 2021. Kayky went on to make 14 appearances for the club’s under-21 side, scoring six goals and assisting four times. He also managed to play twice for the club’s senior team, once each in the FA Cup and the Premier League.
Kayky’s medical with Pacos de Ferreira is scheduled for this week, as all terms have been agreed upon between Manchester City and the Portuguese club.
Nahuel Ferraresi will complete a move to Sao Paulo after agreements with City have been completed. The deal is expected to be made official later today. The centre-back is joining the Brazilian club on a one-year loan deal, for which the club won’t pay a fee, and will only afford his salary.
If the defender performs well in Brazil, Sao Paulo have an obligation to sign him permanently and will pay Man City a sum of €6m in that scenario.
A deal for Ferraresi has been long anticipated by manager, Rogério Ceni, who needs a new centre-back in his team. Sao Paulo seem to enjoy doing business with Man City as this is their second deal (after Nahuel Bustos) with the English club in just a few days.
