Manchester City have let go of three senior players just this summer. With a whole lot academy players leaving on loan or permanent deals, and Fernandinho moving away from the Etihad as he approaches the twilight of his career, it has been rumoured that Manchester City are likely to lose another senior player this summer.
Bernardo Silva has drawn much attention from Barcelona and has been linked with a move to Camp Nou in recent times. Barcelona have kept on knocking on Manchester City’s doors in the pursuit of Bernardo but City have kept a stiff neck through out the whole time.
The rumour intensified in the past week that Bernardo Silva is closer out of the Etihad, as they have offered the Portuguese to the Spanish club for £80m. With Lyon’s Lucas Paqueta’s link to Manchester fueling the whole transfer controversy, it was as though City were going even deeper in the revamp of their last season’s trophy winning squad.
However, reports according to British newspaper, Daily Mail Sports has put to bed all rumours concerning Silva’s exit. It stated that Manchester City remain keen on keeping the midfield talent beyond this transfer window and into the next season.
This information is likely to give Arsenal the upper hand in their race to sign Lucas Paqueta except Pep Guardiola is looking to further enrich his midfield blessed side.
