Man City are weighing up their options on possible replacements for Nathan Aké. The Netherlands international defender has reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea and the Mancunians will not stand in his way if a suitable bid comes for him.
Man City however, have decided that they will replace Nathan Ake with another defender if he leaves the club this summer. It is very unlikely that the club will go without signing a replacement and give the opportunity to the academy stars (majorly Luke Mbete and Josh Wilson-Esbrand) to fill in the gap. They will need to sign an experienced centre-back in their quest to defend the Premier League title for the second time in a row.
With a handful of prolific defenders that are on the radar for City, Pep Guardiola’s side will have to choose and prioritise a move for one of them.
Villareal’s Pau Torres, Sevilla’s Jules Koundé and RB Leipzig’s Joško Gvardiol are all on the list. Kounde has attracted interest from both Chelsea and Barcelona, but both suitors have seemingly not gotten their act right for the defender.
Kalidou Koulibaly is also available on the market. The Senagalese centre-back was heavily linked with a move to Man City in previous times, but a deal was not finalised as the Sky Blues went on to sign Ruben Dias instead in that window.
