Middlesbrough have reached full agreement to sign Zack Steffen on loan from Manchester City, reporfs Fabrizio Romano.
He will undergo his medical texts in the next hours then official announcement as a new Middlesbrough player to follow.
The 27-year-old is set to leave Manchester City on a one-year deal to play enough time eyeing to represent USMNT in the World Cup which will be held in Qatar in November.
He will battle with the likes of Matt Turner, Ethan Horvath, Sean Johnson, and Gabriel Slonina for the USMNT’s No.1 jersey at the World Cup.
Having capped 29 times for the USMNT, Steffen joined Manchester City from the Columbus Crew in 2019, spending a season on loan with Fortuna Dusseldorf before backing up Ederson for the Premier League champions.
Manchester City have already signed Stefan Ortega from Arminia Bielefeld as a new second goalkeeper to Ederson Maraes.
