Manchester City’s Manager Pep Guardiola had a press release ahead of the club’s match against club America in the early hours of Thursday. It is the pre-match conference held since the completion of the 2021/22 premier league season.
In the press conference, Pep spoke of the importance of having good vibes in the locker room and commended the new signings for giving good impressions. “The first impressions of Julian [Alvarez], Kalvin [Phillips], Erling [Haaland], and Stefan [Ortega] were really good – they seem like good people. Having good vibes in the locker room is more important than tactics”, the Spaniard said.
Pep went on to debunk claims of a deal for Neymar saying it’s not true. Pep said, “I’m sorry but it’s not true. Their information is not right, Neymar is an incredible player and the info I have he’s an incredibly nice guy. But it’s not right. Every summer City are going to buy 150 players!”.
The manager further said that too much pressure wouldn’t be placed on the new signings as they’d need time to settle. “We cannot put too much pressure on these players. We need to get them houses, apartments in Manchester, and in the sessions what we want them to do will increase…”
Pep then confirmed the departure of Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal, wishing him goodluck.
