This afternoon by 16:00pm in Manchester(City), The City boss Pep Guardiola was covered under an event where he was interviewed. He showed a lot of positivity in his speech.
“We’re not going to change the way we play. We’re going to adapt the quality the players have to be involved in the way we play, but we’re not going to change. Why should we change the way we play when we did really quite well in these last seasons?”
“But we want Erling, Julian and Kalvin, and Stefan, we want the best of them, the best version, adapting what you want to play. I’m pretty sure it’s happened. It’s just a few days together, but the feeling is really good for all of them..”
“Hopefully they enjoy Chelsea, Raheem Sterling, and Arsenal, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus. What we have done, everyone was involved and all three were important. A privilege to be their manager, and I’m very fortunate to have these players in the last six seasons..”
“I’ve been in love with Manchester City since day one, incredibly comfortable. All departments, the hierarchy, but especially these players, of course. What can I say; the people on the street or in the stadium, how they take care of me and my family.”
“This club right now, I’m sorry for the future, the standards are there. We have to fight to maintain it there. Our people, our fans don’t live for the memories. This season, our fans want more! They’re hungry to see good games and enjoy!”
“Crying after the game vs. Aston Villa FC? It’s for the fact of winning here. Looking up to see the family in the stands, and yeah, of course it goes to everything that you have.
“It’s not just winning in that moment, it’s because of the disappointment in Madrid, and the tough battle in Atletico Madrid, 13 games or 12 games you have to win to beat Liverpool. There are many things, many aspects that in that moment said, ‘okay, it’s over.’
“I’m pretty sure I would not cry if we lost the game or if we did not win Premier League, but at that moment, the joy, the hug, the people you love; Juanma, Manel, Rodolfo, Emily and Sam, all the people, the staff, the group of staff in that moment, it is a lot.
“Yeah we are well, we are sleeping well, we are eating well, but the last months, they are so, so intense, and for the players as well.
“So disappointment, it was really, really tough for us, how they react after the games, four or five games winning, five-zero against Newcastle, go to Wolves and win one-four, one-five, I don’t remember exactly. These moments, always they are 24 hours living with the tension to do it, in that moment, said, ‘wow, we did it’, and after being calm, you can celebrate with your family, with your friends, this is amazing.”
“Decisions [on the UCL Final] were made because of what I felt, what I wanted to play, the conditions for the players. Even though we lost the final, I have incredibly good memories from that competition, beyond exceptional what we had done.”
“Being runners-up in a UCL final is incredible success, from my point of view. Being there was an honour for Manchester City. Last season we were close to arriving again. This season, we’re going to try again..”
“I like to work with nice people like Kevin De Bruyne. A top-class player could behave completely differently, for the quality that he has. He’s completely different; a normal guy, living normal things, and enjoy playing football. He is the best central-midfielder in the world..”
“It was nice, winning the 20/21 Premier League, a big margin – against Manchester United, I think so…”
“We thought from the beginning, Phil Foden cannot be loaned. He will be with us, training with David Silva, Vincent Kompany, Sergio Aguero – these guys will help with his development… Now he’s a reality..”
