Last season, Manchester City pulled off a replica of 2014’s final day title winning showdown. Having bruised Jurgen Klop’s Liverpool’s ego in a cold English rivalry contest does not water down the fact that the Premier league title holders had a very tasking season.
Whilst title contending Liverpool have been recognised as the blue Mancunian’s fiercest rival, the likes of Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Southampton were major hitches in City’ title retain.
The latter side’s two-legged tie with Manchester City might have come to haunt them already ahead of the coming season. Reports according to Sam Lee has stated that Manchester City have rejected a proposal from Southampton to sign Liam Delap on a permanent deal.
With Manchester favouring Championship side, Burnley as the striker’s potential destination, the Sky Blue team have backed their decision with their expectation of the youngster returning to the Etihad after some time.
Although Manchester City are in a wealth of attacking options presently, they are still not willing to part ways with Delap just yet, but prefer a temporary loan deal for the player.
