Jurgen Klopp will be concerned as the number of his squad members continues to reduce due to injuries. Just days after he confirmed the absence of Diogo Jota and Allison Becker, Klopp faces another injury scare in Curtis Jones.
Allison has returned to the squad already ahead of the tie against Fulham, but Jota remains sidelined. The Portuguese picked up the injury on international duty for his country.
Curtis Jones’ calf injury occured in Liverpool’s Community Shield tie against Manchester City last weekend. Although the severity of the injury is yet to be ascertained, The Reds expect to have him sidelined for two to four weeks.
The injury means that Curtis Jones will like miss Liverpool’s first five Premier League games, including their opener against Fulham.
Klopp still has options for central midfield because Jones is not a regular starter for Liverpool. Thiago, Henderson and Keita are still available for the weekend clash on Saturday.
