Liverpool have started the Premier league season much slower than expected. A hard earned tie at the Craven cottage is not exactly the outcome that the Reds’ supporting fans were hoping to see.
While a fair share of the blame has been apportioned to Liverpool’s early injury list, Jürgen Klopp was quick to turn the blame to Fulham’s pitch, regarding it as championship standard.
Liverpool’s injury woes poses a huge threat on their defensive line, with Konate and Tsimikas bring the affected parties.
The Mersey side’s defensive crisis has however spread to their U-21 side. The team has lost three members of their back line this summer in persons of Tom Clayton, Rhys Williams and Billy Koumetio.
U-21 manager, Barry Lewtas’ need for defensive reinforcement has forced him into the transfer market once again.
Reports according to The Athletic has confirmed the signing of Oludare Olufunwa on a free transfer after an impressive pre-season trial at the AXA Training Centre.
The 20year old is indeed a much needed addition to Lewtas’ side and would be hoping to slip into Jürgen Klopp’s side with time as seen with Curtis Jones and Harvey Eliott.
