Real Madrid are set to play their most anticipated match of the season. The Classico, a fixture to be taken as though it were the final of the most important trophy.
A match which time and time again has proven to be the most anticipated in Spain.
Los Blancos have had a few worries, including injuries, agead of the tie with Barcelona on Sunday. Head coach, Carlo Ancelotti has faced the press in an pre-match interview.
“Courtois is better but he has not trained enough. He’ll not play tomorrow,” confirmed Carlo Ancelotti.
“He [Courtois] trained a little bit and has recovered but he has not trained enough to be match fit. He will train more and we will evaluate his condition on Wednesday or Sunday.
“Rüdiger is totally fine and will be available for tomorrow. He has to wear a mask but he’s a warrior.”
Their previous encounter saw Barca secure a sensational 4-0 victory, however Carlo Ancelotti believes last season’s results won’t affect Real Madrid tomorrow.
He said: “My players know Barcelona very well. Last season’s game won’t affect us. They have had some problems in the Champions League, but in LaLiga they are spectacular.
“Barcelona’s game style? I think it’s not good to have just one style because the players change over the years. They start playing strong in the first half, we are better in the second.
“El Clasico is a very special game for everyone.
“Modrić as false 9 last year? It didn’t work and we saw it. No surprises this time (laughs).”
“Rodrygo’s an extraordinary player. He has shown he’s amazing also when he starts the games.”
Real Madrid will host Barcelona tomorrow, Sunday at 16:15, at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga matchday nine.
