Following the arrival of Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia at Old Trafford, Manchester United have agreed to loan Alex Telles to Spanish club, Sevilla.
The Brazilian failed to secure a place in the first team since joining United from Porto in 2020. Although he had a regular spot in the starting XI last season due to Luke Shaw’s injury, Telles’ inconsistency has made him lose favour with the fans of the Red Devils.
The Brazilian defender has another chance at glory in Spain. He will spend the season at Sevilla on loan who will pay €2m to Manchester United as part of the player’s salary. Medicals have been scheduled to take place on Thursday after which Telles will be announced as a Sevilla player for the season.
The Red Devils did not include an option to buy in the loan deal as the expect the defender to be back at Old Trafford in 2023.
Telles will be Sevilla’s second signing of the summer just behind centre-back Marcao. Marcao signed for the Spanish club after the departure of some high profile players including Diego Carlos’ move to Aston Villa and Jules Kounde’s Barcelona transfer.
