Giving young players a big-money contract has not always been the ideal route for Chelsea to take in the past. However, if there’s a time to do it, it is now. It’s only right that Reece James is given a new Chelsea deal that truly reflects the incredible effort and work rate he puts in.
James currently earns around £56,000 a week. This makes him a low earner in comparison to the rest of the squad. It comes as no surprise that Chelsea are ready to hold talks with the 24-year-old to discuss new terms in his contract. It also doesn’t come as a surprise that his team have already been preparing for this.
