Five Man City players make Transfermarket’s top 10 value list

By Daniel AkpaAugust 4, 2022No Comments

Manchester City are intent on coming out on top on every table possible. Even off the pitch, they have proven dominant in various aspects including club rankings and now, the list of the most valuable players in the Premier League.

There was an addition of high-profile signings to the Premier League in the summer transfer window. These additions have joined the already existing top names in the English league to compete for the most valuable on Transfermarket. Manchester City have claimed 5 spots of the list of 10, showing again that there is no holding back in their quest for all-round dominance.

Considering the age and fee Liverpool splashed on Darwin Nunez, it is rather shocking that the striker does not feature in the list. On the other hand, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland claims the top spot with a staggering €150m price.

City signed Haaland for £51m early in the summer, but Transfermarket still see him as the most valuable player in the Premier League. This places him above Tottenham phenomenon, Harry Kane and Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah who come in second place on the list for a €90m price.

Phil Foden also shares the second place spot with Salah and Kane. The 22 year old has been the Young Player of the Season for two seasons running and has recently agreed to sign a contract that will more than triple what he previously earned at the club. Foden will now earn £225,000 as wages from Manchester City, making him one of the highest paid youngsters on the planet.

Kevin De Bruyne shares the 5th spot (€85m) with Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes despite being 4 years older than the Portuguese.

Bernardo Silva and Rodrigo Hernandez occupy seventh place with Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and West Ham’s Declan Rice for a price of €80m.A lot is expected from Manchester City after coming out on top in different aspects possible. As the season kicks off tomorrow, the Cityzens will look to defend their Premier League title, starting with the opener against West Ham. They will also have to put in more work and commitment as they hope to clinch their first ever Champions League trophy.
