Manchester City’s latest signing Sergio Gomez has followed the path of former countrymen who had played for the Manchester club by picking the Jersey No. 21
The 21 year old has completed his €15M move to Manchester City from Anderlecht and arrived at the City Football Academy on Saturday. The Spanish international becomes the only left back at the club following the departure of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Pep Guardiola is desperate to keep him with the first team.
Gomez have opted to pick the Jersey No. 21 which was famously worn by legend David Silva and recently vacated by another Spaniard in Ferran Torres. Gomez had previously put on Jersey numbers 10 and 17, but with both occupied by Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne respectively, the 21 year old has picked the No. 21 jersey.
He was indeed delighted to be given on the Jersey and has promised to give his best while wearing it. “I think it’s very nice that another Spanish player takes the No.21 shirt at Manchester City and I will give my best wearing it”, He said.
