Pep Guardiola has left a scar on Jurgen Klopp

By Daniel AkpaJuly 24, 2022No Comments

Pep Guardiola is a modern day master of his art. He has succeeded in not only winning matches and trophies, but also leaving every manager he plays against with a vivid nightmare. Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, is not left out of this mix as he still thinks Pep’s side is better than his.

The German boss has given his verdict ahead of the Premier League season, predicting City to claim another EPL title at the end of the 2022/23 campaign. Even after building a heavily fortified squad in Liverpool, Klopp still believes that Pep Guardiola’s master team is miles ahead of his.

In a recent interview with the Liverpool boss, he responded on who he thinks will finish the new season on top, saying

“I have no idea who will make the race, it looks like City in the end will be the champion. If we hadn’t have been champions I think they would’ve won it five or six times in a row which is really crazy in this country.”

However, as he is known to always put up a fight, he did not concede so quickly in his decision. He expects his side to put up a really good fight until the end. In his own words, he said:
“Our target is to play the best possible season for us. What can we squeeze out? Let’s see. Really looking forward to it. That will be a massive fight, oh my god. That’s the Premier League.”

After City’s summer squad revamp, the Premier League will surely see a totally different side of Guardiola’s expertise. There were doubts as to whether his new team will kick into gear right away, but those questions have almost been completely answered in their pre-season games.

City have won both friendly games against Mexican team, Club America and German giants, Bayern Munich. However, there is still one box left for them to tick as they face Klopp’s Liverpool for the Community Shield contest in six days.
